Perimeter Drainage Victoria – Keep Your Home Dry
Drainage solutions tailored to your home
Not all drainage issues are the same. Unlike many other drainage and waterproofing companies, we pride ourselves on providing drainage solutions that are tailored to the specifics of your home. For example, often times older Victoria homes had their foundations built on large rock beds. When an exterior drainage problem occurs, simply replacing the drain tile or perimeter drains won’t necessarily solve the problem. We are able to offer both interior and exterior drainage solutions in this case to solve the problem.
Working from both the outside & inside
Our waterproofing experts may recommend working from the inside or the outside, but it depends on the nature of the leak. For example, small cracks in your foundation can be repaired with our specialty crack sealant. Unlike a traditional epoxy or concrete repair, this specialty sealant moves and flexes over time as your foundation walls move with the freeze / thaw cycle. We then follow up a concrete elastomeric membrane that helps completely seal the interior once your cracks have been filled. In conjunction with our exterior waterproofing solutions, your homes basement can finally be dry and enjoyable again for your family.
Understanding your perimeter drains
If you’ve ever had flooding in your basement, there’s a good chance it’s because your home’s perimeter drain has failed. Perimeter drains are the underground pipes that run around the outside of your house. Their purpose is to channel rainwater and excess groundwater away from your home. Over time, tree roots, soil and other objects can block the pipes, or the pipes themselves can be crushed or misaligned by earth movement. Left untreated, this can result in water backing up against the foundation or under your basement floor, which can lead to basement flooding and all the associated consequences – property damage, poor indoor air quality and ultimately, lower home resale value.
If you suspect your home has a perimeter drainage problem (or if you have a leaky basement that defies explanation), we can help you get to the bottom of the issue using a drain camera. If a clog is the problem, we may be able to remove enough debris with our equipment to restore proper flow. If the clog is too severe or another problem is the cause, you may choose to replace part or all of the perimeter drain. Either
