The main function of a chimney is to create draft for combustion and to transport the flue gases,
many of which are toxic, out of your home. Subsequently, it is better to have a properly functioning chimney than the latter. If you find your stove or fireplace smokes into the room- a possibly

The function of a chimney is two-fold, first to carry the undesirable products of combustion (smoke) out of your home; Secondly, to supply the draft (pressure) to feed air to the fire. The draft of a chimney is simply a product of hot air rising. Therefore, the taller the chimney the more draft.

• An inadequate flue liner
