Our history and future

Erik Lappnau, the father of Flintstones, started his bricklaying apprenticeship in Scandinavia 45 years ago building brick buildings and homes. Erik then moved to Canada as a certified bricklayer. With old country work ethic and extreme attention to detail, Flintstones has been exceeding customer expectations and building a rock solid reputation one brick, stone and happy customer at a time.

Today, Mike de Palma continues to build on Erik's philosophy of quality workmanship and attention to detail. Mike, a native of Victoria, developed his passion for masonry early on as a 16-year-old apprenticing under Erik's careful teachings. Fifteen years later, the family-run company continues to flourish with a reputation of customer satisfaction and an assurance that your home and yard, as well as your neighbours, will be treated as their own while they work.

Unlike others, Flintstones Masonry does not subcontract their work; your job is assigned a dedicated team of professionals whose only task is to work full days until the project is complete. Combined, our employees have over 100 years of experience and are among the best trained and most certified in Victoria. We provide high quality repair, renovation and new-builds in brick, stone and concrete, with the latest in construction methods, new materials and greenbuild techniques. We deliver professional and reliable service, experienced tradesmen and trust that a satisfied customer and quality product is our best form of advertising.
